KASHMIR CONTINUED TO BE CUT OFF FROM REST OF THE WORLD

The Srinagar airport has been closed for the civilian traffic for the second day today and Indian Occupied Kashmir continued to be cut off from the rest of the world. The airport is being used for military purposes.

 
INDIAN BOMBARDMENT CONTINUE IN KARGIL AREA

Sorties by Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters continued in Kargil sector on the cease-fire-line. An Indian helicopter crashed as it had been hit by India's own mortar and artillery shells. Two civilians embraced martyrdom and another two injured at Bhimber sub-sector as a result of mortar and artillery shelling by Indian army from across the cease-fire-line.


KASHMIR IS A NUCLEAR FLASH POINT (May 28, 1999, PTV Islamabad)
Addressing a news briefing in Islamabad, the Pakistani Information Minister, Mushahid Hussain said, "Kashmir is a nuclear flash-point and a political process to resolve the issue needs to be accelerated. The international community should take cognizance of the fundamental point.


DUKHTARAN-I-MILLAT UNFURL PAKISTANI FLAG IN LAL CHOWK

The organization of Kashmiri women, Dukhtaran-i-Millat in a daring bid unfurled Pakistani green flag in Lal Chowk in the heart of Srinagar City, marking the celebration of Yom-i-Takbeer in Pakistan commemorating the successful Chagi nuclear test on May 28,1998. A large number of women workers of Dukhtaran-i-Millat (Sisters of Nation) suddenly appeared in Lal Chowk area with a huge Pakistani flag in their hands unfurling it with great enthusiasm. The head of Dukhtaran-i-Millat, Aseea Indrabi said that they could not celebrate Yom-i-Takbeer in a befitting manner due to Indian brutalities and bombardment in Kargil.


COMPLETE STRIKE IN KASHMIR

A complete strike was observed throughout in Kashmir as a protest against Indian bombardment and wanton use of its aircraft in Kargil area. The call of strike was given by All Party Hurriyet Conference (APHC). There was also boycott at courts.

MUJAHIDEEN'S ACTIVITIES (May 28, Srinagar, PTV Islamabad)
Mujahideen are inflicting heavy causalities on Indian forces due to strategic superiority. The moral of Indian soldier at its lowest due to shooting down of two Indian fighter planes. Meanwhile six Indian soldiers including an officer were killed when their military vehicle was destroyed in a mine explosion at Binhar.

SRINAGAR (FP) - Muslim fighters shot down an Indian military helicopter as India intensified air strikes against them and said it made strategic gains in the Himalayan mountains Friday.

A Mig-17 gunship was hit by a US-made Stinger while it was rocketting entrenched guerrillas, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Malik said, adding two pilots and two gunners died.
